Biographical / Historical

Dean of Academic Affairs, Kirkland College -- Catherine S. Frazer was born on 22 April, 1925, in Lincoln, NE. After graduating from Wellesley College with a degree in Philosophy in 1946, she earned an M.A. (1948) and a Ph.D. (1951) from Yale University. From 1948 until 1959, Frazer served Wellesley College as an Instructor of Philosophy and a Lecturer in Humanities. She became an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Denver in 1965, eventually being named Department Chairman (1970-1974) and full Professor (1971-1974). In 1974, Frazer joined the faculty of Kirkland College as the Dean of Academic Affairs, a position she held until Kirkland College merged with Hamilton College in 1978.
