Locket containing lock of Alexander Hamilton's hair, accompanied by paper reading "Lock of Alexander Hamilton's hair given to my Grandfather G.B. Vroom by him"; envelope with written inscription "Alexander Hamilton's hair" and, crossed out, "marquis ring", with return address "George A. Vroom Co., Produce Commission Merchants, 128 Eight Avenue, New York." Also letter postmarked Aug 14 1903 from "Aunt Carrie" (Caroline Mandeville Vroom?) to her nephew George A. Vroom, which discusses pins including Alexander Hamilton ones given to her father, who was likely Guysbert Bogart Vroom, 1778-1824. Note from the desk of Frank Lorenz: "Locket containing Alexander Hamilton's hair (presumably). Gift of William P. Banning '45." Silver back of locket has initials A.H. and G.B.V.
