Hastings family genealogical materials
Two sets of handwritten genealogical listings for the Hastings family, booklet "Thomas Hastings, 1784-1872" (originally published 1872), History of the Class of 1857 of Hamilton College, 1897. Genealogy includes Thomas Hastings born in Watertown in 1652 and his descendants down to the middle of the 19th century. 1st genealogy, on cream paper, 2 leaves, 1 folded, 3 pages written on, ends with notation: "This genealogy is from "History of Hadley" including the early history of Hatfield, South Hadley, Amherst, & Granby, by Sylvester Judd, with Lucius M. Boltwood, printed in 1863, at Northampton." 2nd genealogy, on blue paper, 1 leaf, folded, 3 pages written on, headed Family Record, is inscribed by Mrs. Sophy H. Douglass (last entry in the genealogy is Sophia Elizabeth Hastings, daughter of Albert M. Hastings, married to Robert L. Douglass, and their son Charles Hastings Douglass. Her father Albert, born 1804, was the son of Seth, b. 1745, and brother of Thomas Hastings, b. 1784, of Clinton; another brother, Seth, b. 1780, was the father of George, b. 1807, and grandfather of George Seymour Hastings, b. 1836``, Hamilton College Class of 1857).
