Stampless letter, 1 sheet, folded, dated April 28, 1817, Hamilton College, from Zedekiah Smith Barstow, who graduated from Yale in 1813, and was granted an honorary MA from Hamilton in 1816. He was a tutor at the College from 1816-1817. The letter, to Gen. H. Howe, Bookseller, New Haven, Connecticut, discusses a dissolved partnership in Utica, Barstow's conversation with Erastus Clark about the situation, the disposition of property, the paying of debts. Barstow transfers his account for Calvin's Institutes to Mr. Prof. Strong, as he now has the one-volume copy that belonged to Dr. Backus. Barstow has given Strong one volume of the copy from Howe, and Strong will expect the other volumes.
