Mentions Sam Coe and [Alexander] Coburn, class of 1837, and James Brown, class of 1836 (graduated Union 1836). Discusses Phoenix Society, Irving Society, Hamilton College, Clark having visited Union. Letter from William DeLoss Love, Hamilton College class of 1843, from Andover Theological Seminary to Miss Matilda S. Wallace in Clinton, dated July 16, 1845. Discusses Hamilton's commencement; mentions a number of women. Ending of letter puns on his last name.
