Content Description
Photocopy of front and back of deed or indenture conveying 179 acres of land on the west side of the Oriskany Creek from Samuel Kirkland to Ralph W. Kirkland, dated May 25, 1797. Includes signatures of Samuel Kirkland, John Kirkland, and Eliza Kirkland (her only known signature, according to H. Williams). Verso contains depositions by John Kirkland in 1800 (?), signed by James Dean, and Eliza Kirkland in 1816, signed by Judge Morris Miller, attesting to their witness of the deed; also a note that the deed was recorded on June 8, 1858, in Book No. 209, p. 430 of Deeds.
