Scrapbook or album: One volume containing photographs, including eight pages of Hamilton buildings; signatures; newspaper articles; Emerson Literary Society information; train schedules; academic records, programs and other memorabilia from Leon A. Davis's years at Hamilton, 1912-1916. Leon Arthur Davis (1892-1960) graduated from Hamilton in 1916 with a B.S. and studied at Cornell University and Syracuse University for postgraduate work before teaching science and becoming a principal at several schools. He was Supervising and District Principal for the Lowville schools from 1921 to 1959. Mr. Davis married Katherine Wheelock in 1917, and they had four children. He was a member of the Emerson Literary Society at Hamilton, former president of the New York State Teachers Association, former president and charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Lowville, and a member of the Masonic Fraternity.
